What is Two-Factor Authentication?

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an additional layer of security to your account. Instead of relying solely on your password, it combines:

  • Something you know: Your password.
  • Something you have: A code generated by your phone.

This ensures that even if your password is compromised, your account remains protected.

How It Works

We use Time-Based One-Time Passwords (TOTP):

  • You’ll need to enter a 6-digit code in addition to your username and password.
  • The code refreshes every 30 seconds, making it nearly impossible for unauthorized access.
  • The code is generated via an app on your smartphone, such as Google Authenticator or OATH Token.

How to Get Started

  1. Download the Google Authenticator App:

  2. Enable 2FA on Your bwdomains Account:

    • Log in to your bwdomains portal.
    • Navigate to the Security Settings section from the drop-down menu under your name, displayed on the main Menu.
    • Select Enable Two-Factor Authentication and follow the prompts.

  3. Scan the QR Code:

    • Open the Google Authenticator app.
    • Tap the + icon and scan the QR code displayed on the bwdomains portal.

  4. Enter the Code:

    • The app will generate a 6-digit code. Enter it to complete the setup.

That’s it! Moving forward, you’ll use this code every time you log in.
